Mayor Andre Dickens affirms that Atlanta is a group project. The City of Atlanta’s Year of the Youth campaign is a citywide effort to ensure Atlanta’s children, youth and young adults have the resources needed to thrive.
Partners can support the Mayor’s initiatives in several ways. Read below to provide services to youth, join mentoring programs, employ youth or simply share information about high-quality resources.
The Bottoms Administration has worked hard to ensure that our officers are trained, equipped, and paid commensurate with the challenges they face and their unwavering dedication. The City of Atlanta is doing its part to ensure equity is immersed in all of our decisions. We are forging a new day in Atlanta, where our police officers can live and thrive in the communities they serve; and where we can collectively evaluate the way our justice system works.

In 2022, Mayor Dickens launched strategic efforts to invest in Atlanta’s children, youth, and young adults. The 2022 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), surpassed the mayor’s goals. Atlanta’s business, philanthropic and community-based organizations rallied to “put 3,000 teens to work this summer through our Summer Youth Employment Program.”
